At The Gatwick School, Science in primary school is engaging, hands-on, and inquiry-based. Our curriculum is designed to ignite curiosity and foster a deep understanding of the natural world. Students explore fundamental scientific concepts through interactive experiments, collaborative projects, and outdoor learning. Each lesson builds on prior learning, ensuring a progression of scientific understanding. Teachers employ a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on experiments and discussions to make science both accessible and exciting.

Science assessment is a continuous and comprehensive process designed to monitor and support our students and their progress. Teachers employ a variety of assessment methods, including formative assessments, quizzes and practical experiments.  Regular feedback is provided to students, guiding them towards improvement and deeper comprehension. By systematically checking assessment points, we ensure that each child meets their learning goals and achieves excellence in science.
