Our mission is to provide the best start possible for all children. We acknowledge that the Early Years is extremely important in providing the foundations for all future learning. We teach the knowledge and skills to have a successful academic future but to also have the social, emotional and communication skills to succeed and excel at school and beyond. We do this through:
● Positive relationships between the family, child and school
● Regular communication between family and school
● Rich Early Years Curriculum
● Engaging environment
● Effective SEND practices
● Rights Respecting ethos
● Regular informal and formal assessments to identify next steps for all children
● Regular professional development for all Early Years staff
We are committed to building positive relationships with all children; this is the most important factor in enabling them to feel a sense of belonging and safety going on to making great progress in our Early Years. Using these positive relationships we identify each child’s strengths, areas of development and interests. From this we are able to adapt the learning environment to ensure that meaningful engagement turns into great outcomes. With an effective learning environment that is planned for and enhanced, the adult can then progress learning and development further. The adult does this through targeted questioning and modelling. For example, through resolving conflicts linked to turn taking through devising language development opportunities during restorative conversations and interactions.
